HEIGHT OF LAMP !!!

MORNING ALL.

I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE HEIGHT OF THE LAMP AND BULB WITH YOUR HATCHLING. WHEN THEY ARE VERY TINY AND NEW I SUGGEST THE  BULB MUST BE BETWEEN 18" AND 20" FROM THE BASE OF THEIR HOUSE (THATS THE BASE OF THE BULB)  OBVIOUSLY AS THEY GROW THIS MUST BE RAISED . MY BONNIE AND CLYDE ARE NOW OVER A YEAR AND DOING GREAT AND AS THEY HAVE GROWN SO HAS THE HEIGHT OF THEIR CARAPACE (SHELL)   SO I HAVE NOW RAISED THE BASE OF THE BULB TO  18", THEY ARE STILL GETTING THE SUN (UVA/UVB)  AND THE BASE OF THE HOUSING IS STILL A GOOD WARMTH, REMEMBER YOU DON'T WANT THE HEAT AS MUCH AS THE SUN.. I HAVE TRIED THIS FOR A WHILE NOW AND THEY ARE FINE . ALSO ,THIS MEANS THE BRIGHT SUN FROM THE BULB IS NOT GOING TO DO THEM ANY HARM.. HATCHLINGS WILL ALSO DO FINE IF THE BULB IS 15" O ,THE BEST THING TO DO IS CHECK THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSING AFTER THE BULB HAS BEEN ON FOR A WHILE AND IF IT IS WARM THEN ALL IS WELL. I DO  THINK ABOUT THE BRIGHTNESS SHINING IN THEIR EYES I KNOW IT WOULD GIVE ME  A HEADACHE !!!  BUT THIS WAY IT IS LOW ENOUGH TO GIVE THE RAYS BUT HIGH ENOUGH NOT TO HURT THEM.. IF YOU LOOK AT THE BULB YOURSELF WHEN IT IS ON YOU WILL SEE HOW BRIGHT IT IS AND IT COULD DO HARM TO YOUR EYES  AS WELL AS THE HATCHLINGS. AND THEY UNLIKE US CANNOT WEAR SUN GLASSES! YOU WILL ALSO SEE THAT ONCE THEY HAVE EATEN THEY WILL GET AWAY FROM THE BRIGHT SUN WHICH IS NORMAL AS THEY WOULD DO IN THE WILD.YOU CAN ALSO PUT PIECES OF KITCHEN ROLL AT THE EATING END SO THE HATCHLING CAN GO UNDER IT IF IT WANTS TO STAY NEAR THE SUN BUT NOT IN ITS DIRECT LIGHT .IF YOU ARE WORRIED  ABOUT THE LIGHT CLAMP IT TO GO ACROSS THE HOUSING .YOUR HATCHLING SHOULD ALSO BE IN THE GARDEN MOST DAYS GETTING NATURAL SUN LIGHT AND FRESH AIR DURING THE SUMMER.

SO, ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE RING ME OR EMAIL, I KNOW SOME OF YOU SUSPEND THE LAMP FROM THE HOUSING  AND IF YOU THINK IT IS TOO LOW THEN NOW IS THE TIME TO  FIND ANOTHER WAY TO HANG THE LAMP OVER THE HOUSING.. IF THE HOUSING IS ON A TABLE YOU CAN USE A  BRACKET USED FOR HANGING PLANTS ON THE WALL OR CLAMP IT ON SOMETHING OR USE A CAMERA TRIPOD..
